The adaptation will debut against 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Ride Along 2 and The Nut Job 2. J Blakeson ( The Disappearance of Alice Creed) directs from an adapted script by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich), based on the young adult book by Rick Yancey. The supporting cast includes Nick Robinson, Alex Roe, Ron Livingston, Maggie Siff, Maika Monroe and Liev Schreiber. Forced to trust each other, Cassie and Evan fight for survival during the fifth. Evan watches his human family (and girlfriend) die horribly in the Third Wave. Fate leads her to form an alliance with Evan Walker (Alex Roe), a mysterious young man who may be her last hope. Around the time Evan is eighteen or nineteen, the alien apocalypse happens. Evan now has special alien superpowers, but he'll die if his human body bites the dust. But the closer she gets with Evan the closer she gets to getting her brother and unraveling the secrets of The 5th Wave. At age fifteen, the alien woke up and 'absorbed' Evan. As she goes to fulfill a promise she'd made, to return to her brother, she meets Evan Walker, a strange but beautiful boy with a secret he won't tell her. And what's The 5th Wave? Well that's what Cassie Sullivan wants to know. She is jealous of Nugget/Sam Sullivan who replaced her role as the adorable, cussing baby of the squad. Teacup is described to be the meanest 7 year old that youll ever meet.

The 4th wave being humans with activated alien brains. Teacup is a survivor of the waves and was originally the only female member of Squad 53.

The 3rd wave being a plague caused by birds, leaving only the unlucky alive. The Last Star is the third book in the series by Rick Yancey. The 2nd wave being a massive tsunami, killing off all coastal cities. Aliens attack Earth in 5 waves, the 1st wave being a permanent blackout of power, setting earth back into the Stone Age. About a week later, she wakes up in the farmhouse of a young man named Evan Walker, who saved her.
